HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Saturday, February 17, 2007
Ok....so it's not until tomorrow, but Happy New Year!!!
This marks the lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year. 2007 is the year of the Boar...my year! If you're near a Chinatown or something of that sort, go out there and view the parade. I didn't have the chance to go last year, but I plan on going this year. It should be tons of fun. Plus, good Chinese food!
The lunar new year is a fun time, especially for children. All you have to do is bow and say 'Happy New Year' to an adult, and you'll receive an envelope full of money. Plus, you get all these tasty, sweet treats during this time. Of course, I only came to learn of these traditions when I was in high school. By that time, I had become too old to receive gifts. ::sigh:: Oh well...it's still fun to celebrate! So, enjoy!
